Suspicous and Fake Flash Drives

Fake copies of Microsoft Office, operating systems, memory cards and flash drives, fake designer clothing... anything of that nature. At any given time TM offers thousands of fake itmes which breach their terms & conditions... and often do little about the problem. This is the place to discuss the issue.

do you have the number to check if this is really geniue kingston's 64gb usb stick ? no offense as too many frauds around ~_~ kimisale (94 ) 11:56 pm, Tue 20 Oct
Answer: HI THERE SORRY I HAVE NO NUMBER AT THE MOMENT AND AND We guarantee our product will come in the original unopened manufacturer`s sealed packing. 12:13 am, Wed 21 Oct
Kingston Drives have the serial number printed on the back of the packaging so it can be easily checked for authenticity.
it appears rlala is reluctant to provide this number.

What's to stop a counterfeiter from counterfeiting the packaging as well.

It's done all the time!

Despite being a member since 2005, rlala has only sold a single item... a
used Blackberry. The blue kiwis show that it took three auctions to achieve
this. I wonder why?

rlala has withdrawn both of his auctions. I wonder if this Q&A had anything
to do with it?
Q: Have you actually used one of these yet? I bought one recently (NOT
from you or off TradeMe), but it showed 64GB when plugged in, but turned
out to be a 256MB chip! PLUS, Kingston dont make a 64GB Data Travellor
150!

A: ll its real memory is 64gb and i got this coz it syas kingston on it[/b]
That's just cost the seller $11.86 in TM fees.

wbmurray 8Gb Flash Drives

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Computers/Exte ... 042930.htm

it`s not terribly smart to buy flash drives off eBay and then resell them using the eBay sellers photo when its been clearly watermarked with their eBay user name.

it`s even less smart when that ebay user is a well known seller of fake flash drives ;-)

http://sosfakeflash.wordpress.com/2009/ ... ert-china/

it possible that wbmurray is unaware of the hacked capacity but is going to get a nasty suprise soon

wbmurray is in the habit of buying stuff on eBay then reselling it on TradeMe.
Take this auction for a 4.3" GPS Navigation unit.

He's buying them for $US50 from eBay seller fancy_gallery from Hong Kong.
That's around $NZ70 but he's listed them on TM for $195. That's greedy. It's
also rather stupid because he's lifted the eBay pix complete with watermark
as well. Here's an example.

Image

That unit sells on eBay for $US89 (without the camera) and he's asking
$NZ345.

i see in the q&a he says the serial number 6603477
http://www.zillion.co.nz/listing/10840302/

(fraudsters often get hold of one genuine drive and use the same serial number on all their counterfeits).

http://fightflashfraud.wordpress.com/20 ... ash-drive/

this guy overseas is selling sticks with the same serial number

send me the Revision Number of the product for me to check with Kingston if the product has a guarantee that was announced here after I give the move (via email) if you do not want to take the number of the product via e-mail you send me a NF?

Thanks for that link. That leads to a cute little programme that reports the
actual size of flash drives. It's a free download.
