Fake Voodoo The Ex knife sets.

Fake copies of Microsoft Office, operating systems, memory cards and flash drives, fake designer clothing... anything of that nature. At any given time TM offers thousands of fake itmes which breach their terms & conditions... and often do little about the problem. This is the place to discuss the issue.

Fake Voodoo The Ex knife sets.

Post by gazza1234 » Thu Feb 18, 2010 5:16 am

Bought a Voodoo Knife set. Received the box with a bit of clear gladwrap wrapped around the retail box and a courier sticker on it. Box was a bit worse for wear as you can imagine.

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =270575953

Everything inside the box looked a bit cheap and nasty and no inner packing so things were floating around loose.
Used the knives one day, washed and dried and put them back in the holder, next day rust all over the handles.
Not seen this before even with other cheaper knives.

Found genuine makers of these sets and emailed them asking if there was something amiss.

Their reply..

Yes it appears as though you do not have a genuine CSB Voodoo set. All Voodoo sets endorsed by designer Raffaele Iannello are manufactured in Taiwan, not China. They are also supposed to state in their listings that they are manufactured by CSB Commodities, Inc. This would also be listed on the packaging.

I suggest you return the unauthorized version, leave negative feedback for the seller and complain directly to Trademe as we have made several attempts to stop these listings from appearing on their site but they do not support our position. Perhaps with enough complaints they will reconsider.

It is a shame things like this happen and we will continue do everything we can to stop unauthorized versions from being sold to uninformed buyers.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Thanks,
Scott Schmeizer

- Contacted seller who has agreed to refund completely.
- Advised TM
- CW'd remaining listings...no action.
- CSB hold NZ Trademarks for The Ex, and Voodoo and I have told TM this.

Sellers reply..

Sorry to hear that. Gary

I need to contact my supplier for this order, as we only have a few samples from the supplier.

Could you please return it to:

Bill wallace
1-4a claude rd., Epsom
1023 auckland

I will fully refund you for the faulty thing.

I apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused to you.

You have a nice day

Bill

Be careful out there.

To date, no auctions removed by TM.
Sellers listings actually say Made in China. .... Not Taiwan.
They have listed more.

Most of this trader's bad feedback seems to be for poor communication,
slow delivery and shoddy goods.

TradeMe really should be paying attention to licensed brand holders.

Maybe they bought them from 1day?
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =284361489" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (read the q asked by callum.irvine )

Are companies like torpedo7/1day able to advertise them as something they aren't then?

No they're not. It's a breach of the Fair Trading Act.

These have shown up again on 1-day today. I guess a few people will get sucked into buying them, then attempt to re-sell on TM. They are usually a hot seller. TM did remove them eventually last time around

Interestingly thevalue - the seller mentioned in the first post of this thread - has been
disabled by TM.

They collected a heavy load of negatives. In fact, no positive feedbacks since March:

Mostly faulty goods, non-delivery, poor contact.

Hello, these appear to be on 1 day again today, $29.95! why pay $188.95 for the real thing! Would have thought the likes of http://www.1-day.co.nz" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; would not list these sorts of fakes. Makes me now wonder if the 'disney' and other toys the regularly have listed a real or not. thumbs down 1-day had thought better of you. :-(

Yes, I emailed 1-day last time and said I was very dissapointed they chose to sell them again. No reply. This time around they have gone out of their way to say they are "unbranded" and made in China. Still a clear counterfeit of the real thing.
