Microsoft Office Pro fakes

Fake copies of Microsoft Office, operating systems, memory cards and flash drives, fake designer clothing... anything of that nature. At any given time TM offers thousands of fake itmes which breach their terms & conditions... and often do little about the problem. This is the place to discuss the issue.

our old friend brian1947 seems to have listed a lot of Microsoft Office Professional

also seems to have a good excuse for selling but alot of it seems suspicious to me

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Computers/Soft ... 951989.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
SOFTWARE: USED ONCE NOW UN-INSTALLED. THIS SOFTWARE IS FROM A DECEASED ESTATE. ONLY 3 MONTHS OLD
3 family PC for each disc.
a look at the local Office Professional 2010 version states that the NZ License only allows use on 2 PC`s by one user.

MICROSOFT OFFICE 2010 PROFESSIONAL RETAIL FOR (1 USER/ 2 PCS)
http://www.computerlounge.co.nz/compone ... f=pricespy" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

However a seller on brians favorite supplier DHgate.com states:

http://www.dhgate.com/50pcs-microsoft-o ... 25355.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The license can be work on 3 PCs;
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Computers/Soft ... 340321.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
USED ONCE NOW UN-INSTALLED FIRST OWNERS WENT BACK TO 2007 BECAUSE THEY WERE MORE COMFORTABLE WITH IT AND KNEW WHERE EVERYTHING WAS SO TO SPEAK.

All those auction explain that this 3 month old software was
Just un- installed from a clients computer so we could install office 2010.
But Microsofts webpage here reveals that office 2007 could be upgraded to 2010 for free

Let's have a peek at brian's feedback. In July he sold a copy of "Microsoft office ulitimate
2007 used"
which resulted in this feedback:
The products validation key was INVALID
Er... that's because it was a fake copy. In June he sold "MICROSOFT 2007 PROFESSIONAL"
which attracted this feedback:
BEWARE OF THESE SELLERS!!! They knowingly sold me an ACADEMIC VERSION with no
word of this Vital Material Fact in the ad. Also didn't honour "Free postage" offer.
However, they later admitted "Academic Version" but claimed (wrongly) that it's okay
for Business use.
And how about this flash drive. In his listing Brian said:
You are buying an 8g tested "Logo Me" flash drive wrongly labelled as a 32g flash drive.
But feedback on the trade tells a different story.
advertised as tested 8G capacity, but was only 2G capacity. No response to e-mails
sent. poor trader in every aspect!!
Honestly, if you were a TradeMe staffer trawling through the CW complaints, would you assume
that the current auction was genuine or fake? It's not brain surgery, is it.

I note that he's added a photo of the COA which clearly shows "Made in US" and the familiar
Ingram Micro sticker. Would one of our experts care to comment on that please?

i noticed something on this auction which seemed insignificant at the time.
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =338802590" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

the three top images of the software are full unedited images, but the Photo of the COA has been cropped

Image

now why would be the need to crop a photo? surely not to hide something thats visible in the complete original photo.
As stated in the feedback revelation posted above by digidog regarding the software being Academic, it`s possible the image has been cropped to hide any academic notice visible on front of the package and he may have photographed some legitimate Full Retail Packages to use in the other photos.

i`m not sure if you can tell if a version is Academic by the numbers on the COA as Microsoft`s How to tell site is pretty much useless.

Many Fakes also carry the Yellow "Ingram Micro" Label, however it should be noted that the Ingram Micro labels are also fake and should not be associated with Ingram Micro"

Brian1947's is an interesting one... He's popped onto my radar a few times over the last 12 months. Originally for selling fake Win 7 Ultimate software, then reviewing his other listings I spotted a few other fakes which I reported to TM. Managed to quickly get blacklisted for asking COA type of questions which was nice.

A couple of months back he was advertising that you could send him your laptop and he'd upgrade it to Win 7 Ultimate /Office 2010 and return it to you. I think (can't quite recall) the price was around $500 for that...

He was also selling a media player or something with your choice of 10 HD movies pre loaded, got that one removed as well....

He used to have his website listed in his profile until I reported it to TM...

http://www.waitaracattery.co.nz/text/174559.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; They own a cattery but he's got all the IT junk that he sells listed on there as well.

I keep my eye on him occasionally as there's always something interesting. He regularly sells "used Office 2007" which smells a bit fishy but I've never payed too much attention to those ones.

The COA Photo on auction 345951989 `Made in USA` proves that that copy is Counterfeit.

The excuse for selling is the same as most of the other Copies of Office he has sold.
THIS SOFTWARE IS FROM A DECEASED ESTATE. ONLY 3 MONTHS OLD
i Note another user has listed copies of Office Professional Plus 2010
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Computers/Soft ... 706231.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

cjthedj1
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Listin ... er=2945739" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

in Addition, Looking at one of Sondastore`s old Office Plus auctions, feedback rating has dropped to
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Computers/Soft ... 058600.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
95.7%
Due to them being disabled by TM a few weeks ago, we are unable to read any new feedback left.
