There appears to be quite a repetitive ongoing river of 'No Can Supply',
'Sorry, Out of Stock' , 'Dropship from elsewhere other than Australasia' and shipping outside
the advised terms being reported on this large TM Book Retailer


Regardless of free shipping or shipping from Australia to NZ the
emerging pattern of their very poor stock control and coming up with
'Sorry No Stock' after being paid should be a concern for anyone
looking at buying from them

Bad experience. Purchased handbook via Trademe and after 11 days I queried when can I expect delivery. First battle was to get to speak to someone on their listed phone number. Their operators were always busy and only after 3 days I could speak to a support person. I was informed the transaction was not imported from Trademe. They promised to immediately expedite the order. The next day I got an email that the handbook is not available and they will refund me. Not happy at all!

Good book, but I am not happy that no feedback has been placed for me by The Nile for ANY of my several purchases from them over time. I have paid immediately each time by pay now and while I appreciate The Nile will have a high turnover, if they wish to advertise on Trademe they should also be prepared to place feedback for their clients in that medium. Feedback is a indicator of a traders trustworthiness. Not happy.

Enjoying the book thanks. only thing I found was hard to find where it actually says the book was getting shipped from Australia. couldn't find it in the details, and only says free shipping anywhere in nz and located in auckland. what most would expect from what should be a Professional Book Retailer

I have had the same problem, the product I ordered was showing as available ($380), 3 days after I placed the order I received an email saying it was out of stock and would take a month to supply.

I contacted the product manufacturer who had it in stock and said they can ship with in 48 hours??

Three weeks later I have had no more contact and no product.

The problem looks like an issue with the manufacturer supplying "The Nile" and not product availability.

I have asked for a refund, and I am waiting..............

I bought a book from thenile in December and it was delivered in ten days, which is reasonable for a dropship operation. They still have around 23,000 listings although the TM link to their website produces a weird "page not found" error.

My order has still not arrived. I rang the Nile to chase it up on Monday, but have not heard back on its whereabouts yet.

'Lost' my order and if I hadn't followed it up it never would have arrived. On a positive note once I contacted them it didn't take the standard 9 day delivery.

It stands to reason that if you increase your listings through TM - then it is expected that you have your systems & operation up to standard to deal with increased volumes.

Sadly it appears that the nile have not and did not ensure that this was the case, as reflects in their recent stats, increased Red and Blue faces and reports

Bought an Elf on the Shelf for Christmas in early November and paid using credit card. Received a notification from TRADEME saying that a refund had been issued by the seller. Rotten Service

Called Fastway Couriers thrice after receiving alert from The Nile.

The "Delivery Address" has been printed without the name. Fastway Courier made three trips to deliver. The package was not accepted due to missing recipient's name.

I have to now go to Fastway Depot in Onehunga to collect the package.

I would not do any more trading with The Nile. Even the toll free telephone number does not work.

Do not purchase an Elf on the Shelf from this seller! I will be reporting them to Trademe. I purchased one, paid in full, then received an email saying my purchase was cancelled and I had been refunded.
I emailed them to find out why and was informed the item had been cancelled.
They then re-listed the exact same item again immediately! Not only that, but it has been 3 days now and I am yet to receive my money back.
I know of at least 3 other traders who have had the same thing happen.

Still hasn't arrived. ordered on the 24th Oct. Thats 19 days until I needed it for a gift. Hadn't heard anything by the 9th day so emailed asking when would it arrive. They said there had been a delay in dispatching order. (and didnt bother to tell me this) and it wont make the original arrival date. So that would take an extra 5-10 days! I needed it on the 12th. it is now the 15th of November. (22d since I ordered) and no sign of it. Very poor communication. Terrible shipping.

Pretty disappointing transaction. Despite their location showing as Auckland, I overlooked that the description said the book will ship from Australia. But in fact it ended up shipping from the US. it took more than 3 weeks to arrive, my son was terribly upset with the delays. Advertised delivery dates o auction are completely wrong. After filing a dispute with trademe because my item had not arrived and the seller was not replying to emails I was then told that it would be another 4-6 business days before being delivered, so this doubled the delivery time that was advertised! No communication about the order. Book turned up after 9 days. Compare with Aus retailer I bought from on the same day...instant email to confirm order, follow up email the next day to say it had shipped, book in my hands within 7 days.
Won't necessarily put me off trading again, but you need to lift your game on comms guys.

I had a completely negative experience attempting to purchase 'Western Australia Road & 4WD Track Atlas NEW'. After placing my order my credit card was immediately charged. After 9 days I called to find out where my book was. I got "oh, sorry, it seems there's been a problem". After another week I started emailing and continued to receive "sorry we're looking into it".
